NIGERIAN YOUTHS STAND UP TO SAY ‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH’

As I write now, there are over a thousand Nigerian youths gathered at the National Assembly saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.The main goal of this rally is to let the leaders know that Enough Is Enough and that

-WE ARE TIRED OF INNOCENT PEOPLE BEING KILLED IN THE NAME OF RELIGION

-WE ARE TIRED OF DEGREES THAT SHOULD TAKE 3 YEARS TAKING OVER 5 YEARS

-WE ARE TIRED OF HAVING NO ELECTRISTY

-WE ARE TIRED OF THE LARGE GAP BETWEEN THE RICH AND POOR

-WE ARE TIRED OF NOT HAVING A PRESIDENT

-WE ARE TIRED OF HAVING TO LIVE IN FEAR

-WE ARE TIRED OF LIVING IN A LAWLESS COUNTRY

-WE ARE TIRED OF LIVING IN DARKNESS

-WE ARE TIRED OF SEEING CHILDREN ON THE STREETS BEGGING FOR FOOD TO EAT

-WE ARE TIRED OF GOVERNMENT EMBEZZLING MONEY THAT SHOULD BE SPENT ON MAKING THE COUNTRY BETTER.

-WE ARE TIRED OF ALL THE NEGATIVES IN NIGERIA.

and we(the youths) refuse to take all this things anymore so we say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

The Rally which started hours ago is being led by various Nigerian youths like Omotola Jalade,Amara Nwakpa,Dele Momodu,Charlie boyTolu Ogunlesi,Gbenga Sesan and a host of other loyal Nigerians.Like I said the rally started hours ago but the youths were just allowed into the National Assembly a few miunutes ago.None of our leaders including Dimeji Bankole who is a youth himself has come out to listen to what we have to say.The Nigerian youths shall continue shouting, dancing ,talking and rallying until the leaders get off their high horse and listen to what we have to say.

With the help of other Nigerian youths all over the world, #EnoughIsEnough is now a trending topic WORLDWIDE on twitter. We will not stop until change comes.

ITS OFFICIAL-JONATHAN GOODLUCK IS NIGERIA’S PRESIDENT.

PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN

As you all know Umaru Yaradua has been MIA(missing in action) since November last year and the country Nigeria has been Presidentless if thats a word.Well yesterday,09-02-10 the Senate and House of Representatives put a stop to this issue by making the former Vice president, Goodluck Jonathan now President Goodluck Jonathan the acting president of the Fedral Republic of Nigeria.

President Jonathan Goodluck will assume this position, having full charge and authority over the country till Umaru Yaradua returns and is fit to rule the country again *Cough cough*.We at GidiNoize deemed it fit to add the new president’s first speech to this post.

Enjoy.

President Goodluck Jonathan’s first speech as president.

Fellow Nigerians,

1. As we all know, our dear President, His Excellency, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, has been receiving treatment in Saudi Arabia for some time now. Naturally, his absence from the country has generated considerable interest and a heated national debate.

2. Today, the National Assembly passed a resolution mandating me to act as President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In following the extant provisions of the 1999 constitution to arrive at this decision, the leadership and members of the National Assembly have shown great courage, statesmanship and patriotism. I salute them all.

3. In the same vein, I will like to commend all the other political actors and national leaders, particularly the former Heads of State, Elder Statesmen, Governors of the 36 States and other leaders of political groups, civil society organizations, the media, and indeed all Nigerians, for their invaluable contributions and counsel. Our security services also deserve our special commendation for their loyalty and devotion to duty during this trying period.

4. The circumstances in which I find myself assuming office today as Acting President of our country are uncommon, sober and reflective. More than ever therefore, I urge all Nigerians as a people of faith in God, to pray fervently for the full recovery of our dear President and his early return.

5. The events of the recent past have put to the test, our collective resolve as a democratic nation. I am delighted to note that our nation has demonstrated resilience and unity of purpose. Today affords us time to reconnect with ourselves and overcome any suspicions, hurts and doubts, which had occurred. In all these, there are no winners and no losers, because by the Grace of God we have once again succeeded in moving our country forward. We have all shown that our unity as a people, our love for this country, and our hope for its great future cannot be shaken.

6. It is now time for us to move on in a more determined manner to tackle the various challenges which we face as a nation. Our march towards Vision 20-2020 is irreversible. Therefore, we see a need to prioritise on a few of the most critical areas which continue to plague our effort at engendering meaningful economic growth and development. Some of these critical sectors include power, infrastructure, security, generation of employment and business opportunities for our teeming young men and women.

Fellow Nigerians,

7. The Federal Government will take every step necessary to consolidate the gains of Amnesty in the Niger Delta and execute the post-Amnesty programme. I therefore appeal to all concerned to be patient, as there can be no meaningful development without peace and security.

8. As regards the Jos crisis, government will endeavour to sustain the peace and find a lasting solution to the recurring crisis in Plateau State. In the meantime, culprits of the heinous crimes committed in the recent incident will face the full weight of the law. I want to restate that government will not tolerate the culture of impunity that is fast becoming an unwelcome part of our socio-political life.

9. Our commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property in all parts of the country will also be pursued with renewed zeal. The Nigeria Police and other security services would be given new impetus to perform their duties, even while respecting the human rights of Nigerians. They are fully expected to produce corresponding results. There shall be no excuses for failure. Nigerians deserve to be fully protected at all times nationwide.

Fellow Nigerians,

10. One of the cardinal commitments of this administration is our commitment to Good Governance, Accountability and Transparency. We shall continue to pursue these policy objectives with all the seriousness they deserve. In particular, the war against corruption will be prosecuted more robustly. We will therefore strengthen the capacity of the anti-corruption agencies and give them a free hand to prosecute the anti corruption war.

11. Let me once again commend the people of Anambra State, for the successful conduct of the recent gubernatorial election. This has shown that Nigerians can conduct free, fair and credible elections. The Anambra Election has however exposed some weaknesses in our electoral system, and government is determined to plug these loop holes as we approach the next General Elections in 2011. I want to reassure all Nigerians and our friends around the world, that our determination to ensure that the sanctity of the electoral rights of our people shall not be compromised.

12. Let me on behalf of the Nigerian people appreciate the international community for their goodwill and understanding in our efforts at national development and consolidation of our democracy. Nigeria will continue to play a deserving role in regional and global affairs.

13. On a personal note, I am deeply humbled and honoured by this great call to duty. I am fully aware of the responsibilities reposed in me, and I want to reassure all Nigerians that this is a sacred trust, which I shall discharge to my fullest abilities.

14. Thank you and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

”TELL NIGERIANS THE TRUTH ABOUT THE PRESIDENT’S HEALTH AND STOP DECEIVING PEOPLE” DORA AKUNYILI TELLS FELLOW MINISTERS.

PROFESSOR DORA AKUNYILI

So basically at the regular weekly meeting of the Executive Council of the Federation which was held yesterday(04-03-10),The minister for rebranding, Professor Dora Akunyili surprised her fellow ministers  when she presented a memo telling them to tell Nigerians the truth about  the president’s health  and stop deceiving people. The memo further stated that the Council should support the decision of the Senate and several other Nigerian leaders who have asked President Yaradua to transmit a letter to the National Assembly to intimate it of his ill health and the need to stay away from office until he is well enough to return.

According to sources, Professor Dora Akunyili being the sharp woman that she is didnt go through the cabinet office in submitting her memo knowing they would probably sit on it,instead she went straight to the Council meeting to distribute.Unfortunately this wasnt taken well and was used against her as various ministers challenged her saying she should follow procedures thereby putting Mr Jonathan Goodluck in a tight situation and with no choice but to tell her to withdraw the memo and and follow procedure.

With no support from any of her colleagues at the meeting, Professor Dora Akinyuli left and trust Nigerians after the meeting a couple of ministers went behind to say WELL DONE….lol

I must say this was a very brave step from Dora Akunyili though a lot of people may ask what she had been doing for the past 70 days but really its better late than never so yh well done DORA!

SAUDI ARABIAN MORNACH GIVES CONSENT FOR YARADUA TO BE FLOWN BACK TO NIGERIA WITH THE KING’S AIR AMBULANCE.

PRESIDENT UMARU YARADUA

ABUJA —THE plot to ferry ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua back to the country may have been concluded as the consent of the Saudi Arabian monarch, Sheik Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz has been secured for the use of the king’s air ambulance suitable for the nearly six-hour trip back home.

Saudi Arabian sources told Vanguard, yesterday, that although the exact date for the ‘surprise package’ being planned for Nigerians and the international community is still shrouded in secrecy, “the main thing left is preparing the man for the journey.”

Meantime, senators have commenced a waiting game for President Yar’Adua to transmit a letter of his medical vacation to the National Assembly that will signify the enthronement of his deputy as Acting President.

As at press time, no such letter had been transmitted and Presidency officials were unavailable for comments on prospects of such a letter.

Senate President, Senator David Mark alongside his principal officers who are also waiting for such a letter were, last night, scheduled for a meeting ahead of today’s session. Nothing surprising is, however, expected at today’s sitting with many senators willing to wait for another week for the President to digest the import of their bold resolution on the issue adopted last Wednesday.

The senators are, however, urging the President and his minders to transmit the letter to save the nation from further constitutional dilemma. Last Wednesday, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution, urging the President to transmit a letter of his medical vacation to the National Assembly in accordance with section 145 of the constitution.

Though no deadline was given in the resolution, its prime movers comprising the Nigeria Interest Group, NIG, in the Senate say they would wait for two weeks for the President to heed the non binding resolution before taking further action.

Though the NIG members had in the past said that impeachment was not on the cards for them, Vanguard gathered that the dithering procrastination on the part of the President is hardening the minds of some senators in the NIG.

The NIG mustered 80 signatures ahead of the Senate closed door session of last Wednesday’s debate leading to the adoption of the resolution. A principal officer of the Senate told Vanguard,  ahead of the principal officers’ meeting last night: “There is nothing we can do, we have to wait for the letter and hope he transmits it.”

Other senators were, however, calling on the President and his minders to transmit the letter to the National Assembly to help douse the tension they say is enveloping the polity. “The best thing for the President to do is to transmit the letter and save us from this mess,” the senator, speaking on the condition of anonymity told Vanguard yesterday.
