Today the 1st of October 2009,Our great nation Nigeria turns 49.

Nigeria-Why I love Her.

According to research Nigeria is the happiest country on earth, yes i said on earth. You might have heard  a couple of bad things about Nigeria but I stand here to tell you today that the Nigeria that is showcased to the world is Unreal.Yes Nigeria has its highs and lows like every other country in the world, lets take america for instance, the parts of America showcased to the world are the best parts,if you go to the ghetto areas then you’ll see that the so called america that everyone shouts about isnt all that.Lets talk about England,Have you been to peckham???I need not say more…all im trying to say is that the same way no ones perfect,Nigeria too is not perfect but we are a developing country striving towards perfection.

Mouths of people like Oprah winfrey are quick to utter harsh words against Nigeria.I stand to be corrected but when has it ever been heard that Nigeria Bombed some other country, how many Gang bangs happen in Nigeria,How many kids have taken guns to school to shoot their mates,How many teenage stabbing cases have you heard about,How many fathers kill their family members, how many druggies do we have roaming about, how many teenage pregnancies do we have in Nigeria, how many drop outs do we have in Nigeria?now answer those same questions for america or U.K or any othe country in the world. How tell me how great our country is.

I’ll like to end by saying Nigeria is the best and most blessed country on earth whether you like it or not,we have no earth quakes tsunami or whatsoever,we have solid culture and morals,Yes we are not perfect but we are a country striving towards perfection and God willing we shall get there.

I am proudly Nigerian and I’ll forever stay true to my roots!

Arise, O compatriots,
Nigeria’s call obey
To serve our Fatherland
With love and strength and faith.
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
